Mercredi (26 aout), dernier jour à Yellowstone pour aller voir Mammoth Hot Springs, au nord su parc. On passe par la plaine des bisons et ses … bisons ;-) et par un coin un peu moins exploité du parc, le Mont Washburn. On retrouve des orgues, moins massifs qu’à Devils Tower mais des orgues quand même…
Wednesday (August 26), last day in Yellowstone to see Mammoth Hot Springs, north of the park. We go again through the bison plaine with its… bisons ;-) and also through a less crowded side of the park, Mount Washburn. We find again some hexagonal shaped rocks, smaller than at Devils Tower, but still…
Je dois dire qu’après ce qu’on a vu les jours précédents on a été un peu déçus (n’exagérons rien quand même !!) parce qu’une partie des sources est en fait « asséchée » (j’imagine) et donc toute blanche (un peu comme les coraux morts).
La « navette touristique » est, quant à elle, bien jaune !
I must admit that after all we saw the previous days, we have been a little bit disappointed (just a little bit!!) as some of the springs are actually “dry” (I guess) and therefore all white (similar to the dead corals).
The “tourist shuttle” is, indeed, yellow!
Lunch dans le parc à coté des elk (OK, ça fait pas très naturel, mais ils sont bien à brouter le gazon des maisons des employés du parc…), et on part pour le nord dans l’après midi.
Gardner, la « ville » à la sortie a déjà des airs de far-west !
Lunch in the park next to the elks(OK, it’s not fully wild, but they really mow the grass of the employees’ houses…) and we head north in the afternoon.
Gardner, the “city” at the park exit already looks like the far-west!
